Runners were added because they are mentioned as being in the team in 2nd edition. Linemen were straight forward as they were the same as in the Chaos Dwarf team. They are depicted as cheats and incredibly stupid. The only players the material specifically mentions by position are Runners and Linemen. However there was no mention anywhere in any of the material of them having Blockers, Catchers and Blitzers. Working from the source material the Hobgoblins held many records for the most casualties caused in a game and the most received in a game as well etc. After I revisited the Blood Bowl background material I realised that the previous roster I did was more suited to a Hobgoblin slaver team, and felt with the abundance of material to work from in the 2nd edition books a 2nd Hobgoblin team was needed that was more in keeping with Blood Bowl. Originally I only had 1 Hobgoblin team, but this was based more on their WFB background. Their goal is not to win any trophies, all they hope to achieve is breaking The Hobgoblins Team's records of - Most Casualties caused in a match and will try and achieve it by any means necessary. Since the collapse and reformation of the NAF there are many more Hobgoblin teams on the Blood Bowl circuit - all trying to achieve the same level of success as The Hobgoblin team. Not only that - they also hold the record for the most fans killed in one game when their stadium collapsed killing 30,000 spectators. To this day The Hobgoblin team still hold the record for the most casualties caused and received in a single came of Blood Bowl. Fans travelled from far and wide to watch the Hobgoblins getting slaughtered week in week out, but the Hobgoblins would put on a show them selves, their players knew every dirty trick in the book, and never wasted an opportunity to kick a player when he was down, unfortunately they rarely checked who they were fouling and more often than not it was a team mate. They were among the most poorly equipped, moronic creatures found on the Blood Bowl circuit and an easy victory for any opposition. Not only were they every fans second favourite team, they were also among the favourites of every opposing team each year teams would be queuing up to play their pre-season friendlies against The Hobgoblin team. But if there was one team that was everyone's favourite second team it was The Hobgoblin Team. Not that they ever won anything, or even came close.
The Hobgoblin Team is really the only Hobgoblin team worthy of note. The Hobgoblin Team - first mentioned in 2nd edition, who later changed their name to The Hobgoblins.
